History made in Sao Tome & Principe on 15 August, 2021.
The newly established Embassy of India in the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome & Principe celebrated its very first Independence Day at its premises.
Ambassador Raghu Gururaj unfurled the National Flag and read out the Address of the President of India. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the essay contest on the topic of "India's Journey as a Developing country since its Independence" as part of the Mission's celebrations on "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav".
The event was attended by over 40 persons, which included the small Indian community of 12 persons and other friends of India.
